Okay dare I say it is official. Our bear is not BARE anymore.
I had been potty training him for 2 weeks now with out underwear on when we are at home. Now for the past 3 days I have had him in underwear (here at the house) and he has stayed dry.
Last night we went to a party and I left him in his underwear and shorts. The drive was 20 min appx and we even stopped for gas.
We got there... DRY! I asked my cousin to take him to the restroom while a whole battalion cam out and unloaded the rest of the troop and goodies from our vehicle. (J was working... so I was going solo with all 3 littles!)
We stayed there for about 2 plus hours... NOT ONE ACCIDENT! And he did good to say "potty" when he had to go (if we weren't asking him first!). Then the car ride home... DRY! YES! We then had to put a diaper on him. It feels to me like we are helping him regress by putting a diaper on him but what else can you do if you want him in a dry bed.
He still wakes up in the morning with a soaked diaper so he is not officially out of diapers yet. I have asked the question that I would love input on... "how long until he can go through the night? And what do I need to do to train him for overnight?"
I have got one reply from J's Aunt... "I woke up with mine every morning at 2 AM for 2 weeks and they never had a bed wetting problem". Love this. I think that is what will have to happen but then what... do they just go on their own at 2AM? Or do they just learn to hold it b.c now they are more aware of what is going on during sleep? I will ask her and get back to you on that.
But for now... if you have ANY words of wisdom please feel free to leave them for me in the comment section of this post! Thanks so much!

my cousin just potty trained her little boy and is doing teh no diaper at night thing - check out her blog - it is the Durands link on mine.
I think it just depends on the kid. Luke was almost 4 1/2 before he was ready. He was fully potty trained at 3 during the day. Haley was fully potty trained at 2 and has been sleeping in panties for over a 1 year now. She's 3 1/2 now. I waited about 2 months of her going without any day accidents. I used pull ups at night so they did not feel like they were babies wearing diapers.
We did do the middle of the night trick with Luke but did it at 11 right before Eric and I went to bed. Luke sometimes still gets up on his own to use the potty right around the same time.
But every kid is different. Potty training I feel like is just one of those trail and error things. I guess so is parenting for the most part :)

My question is: Why are you stressing about night time? Crap! I can barely make it through the night!
The twins are THREE and still sleep in pull-ups at night and naptime. Some mornings they are dry and others they are not. I don't stress b/c they stay dry all day long and I know that if they COULD they would stay dry at night.
They have tiny bladders so don't expect a dry night for a while, unless you wanna wake up at 2am. Yuck.
wow! he is doing great! i think it takes a bit after training to get the nightime down but I think most parents tell me that their kids just started waking up dry and then they knew it was time to lose the nighttime one.
I agree with Jessica and Marion... every kid is different, and DON'T stress about it. Lauralyn could stay dry through the night around the age of 3. Unfortunately, Isaac is 6 and still wears pull-ups. Not that we haven't tried EVERY trick in the book (waking him up, alarm systems that beep at the first sign of moisture, etc.) He is slowly improving, but because he sleeps so hard, he has a hard time waking up to pee. Augh!
And then there's Kristin, who I am really trying to potty train, but she doesn't care one bit if she's wet or dirty. She'll pee a puddle on the ground and walk around in wet panties for 20 minutes before I discover her accident. Grrr. But, I know she will be potty trained eventually...it's just keeping my sanity in the process. :-)
Great job, Bri! You are an awesome mama.
my youngest would wet in the night (in underwear) and SLEEP THROUGH it- he slept so hard. I would go check him about 11 and he was asleep, completely soaked. At age 4. Totally 100% trained since 2.5 during the day, but nighttime was another story.
My other son did about the same thing.
My daughter was trained day/night at 2.3 months and I think only had 1 accident ever.
So, every kid is different. You'll know!
Way to go Bear!! I don't know anything about potty training...sorry.
