This is the look of a baby with Conjunctivitis. He woke up like this yesterday and we took him to the Dr. He has green goopy stuff coming out of his eyes and his nose is gross. He had a low grade fever and very irritable. The Dr told me that it is Conjunctivitis (a bacterial eye infection). He prescribed him some eye drops to be administered 4 times a day.Bear is still a trooper even though mommy is worn out from all the med applications and keeping times and doses.
Please God HEAL our little boy. I pray for complete Healing over his little body and ask Father that you would restore the places of his body that have been down due to this illness.
Look at his little swollen eyes.. so sad to see him look at you with those puffy eyes. He is still pressing in and playing as usual. However, outside is tough on him right now due to eye sensitivity.
This sweetness is worth every Medicine application I have to log. Hopefully before too long this will be gone and he will be back to normal. And even before too MUCH longer he will be officially Wachsmann and we can forget logging anything.Now let me explain to you the difference in a normal sick child and a "foster/adopt" sick child... Lots and lots of logging and time keeping as well as dosage perfection. No matter what you are putting on the child whether it be diaper cream or orajel you are going to have to log it. What time, how much, who did it, who witnessed it (okay maybe not that but it feels that intense). And they have to be turned in every month.. so you have to keep up with daily logging on what the child does and progresses in as well as all medications the child takes and when including dosages... "How do you measure orajel and desitin you ask"... easy. Just write a dab or 1 tsp. Right! who's measuring the stuff you are squirting on your finger to apply to the "affected" area? Frustrating to say the least. I mean what on earth do they need to know that you are putting desitin on a baby's bottom for? Makes you think twice before you let them touch anything that could possibly be germ infested. NO SICKNESSES PLEASE. Right now we are having to log Tylenol and orajel for teething; eye drops (4 times daily); desitin (every diaper change); and medicated diaper cream (2 times daily). Thank you Jesus that I have someone to be putting the medicines on. Ü
Oh well hopefully someday soon we will not have to worry about what we gave him when. At that point we will be fostering/adopting another I am sure. This is what makes some people only want to foster one at a time...I just had Moe and Bear's paperwork at one point and that was hard enough. My respects to all you who have it together enough to take care of more children than that. I am just not that organized. I know it can be done and the love is overwhelmingly worth it and God made those people just like He made me for no more than 2 at a time.
